Reaching Home

The Reaching Home program is dedicated to Nogojiwanong’s clients who are currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The program focuses on the prevention and reduction of homelessness and housing.

Reaching Home encourages partnerships that contribute to a more sustainable and comprehensive continuum of support designed to help the homeless move to self-sufficiency and to prevent those at risk from becoming homeless. The program assists clients in developing basic life skills which will help in self-motivation and independence. The Reaching Home program operates based on identified community needs ranging from transitional houses to housing workers while providing cultural safe supports to Indigenous people experiencing homelessness.

Our Goals

  • To ensure that homeless people and those at imminent risk of homelessness are provided longer-term housing solutions, shelter, and support and prevention services;
  • Partnership development with relevant sectors will ensure access to housing and support for homeless and at-risk Indigenous individuals
