Alternative Secondary School Program

The Alternative Secondary School Program (ASSP) Coordinator will provide guidance and supports for Indigenous students in the program to achieve their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The Program Coordinator connects students to their community, to traditional knowledge keepers, to wraparound learning supports, and to Indigenous approaches to knowing and being.

The ASSP Coordinator will be a team member with the local Catholic and Public-School Boards to consult, intake, review, and support meeting the curriculum needs of each student. This will be achieved through the provision of wrap-around services which include strength-based action plans. The ASSP Coordinator refers students to appropriate services as required and will advocate for and incorporate Indigenous culture, teachings, and language into the Alternative Secondary School Program curriculum.
