In partnership with various agencies and the City of Peterborough, the focus of this program is to provide activities and services that support the well-being of Indigenous women and youth involved in the sex trade, and Indigenous homeless in the City of Peterborough. The program takes a harm reduction and pro-choice stance while also acknowledging the reality that Indigenous women and youth are statistically more vulnerable to sexual exploitation and violence within the sex trade and that it may not be a choice for all women or a choice in circumstances of limited options. Activities and services provided by the program include, but are not limited to, outreach into the community; the provision of harm-reduction resources and other essentials; life skill and well-being workshops; and, collaboration with our partners designed to support urban Indigenous women/youth in the sex trade and Indigenous homeless individuals.
