Aaniin Community Members.
On behalf of the Board and staff, we hope you had a great summer and had some opportunities to visit and spend time with family and friends.
In early August, the Board approved a Stage One Re-opening Plan for the Centre. This stage required that the Centre remain closed to drop-ins however, we have made accommodations for community members and service users to visit the Centre by scheduling an appointment and completing a covid-19 screening assessment. In addition, many of the staff are back working from their offices, with some time still being spent from their homes. We have a Health and Safety Coordinator (HSC) greeting visitors and staff once they enter the Centre and she will assist you to complete the screening process (incl. temperature check) and direct you to your Program Worker. Protocols require that all staff and visitors sanitize and wear a mask. If you do not have one, we will provide a mask for you. We also have cloth masks that you can take home should you make this request.
Our HSC supports adherence to all health and safety protocols, making your visit as comfortable and safe as possible.
Also included in Stage One is the provision for staff to provide small, limited in-person programs and we are currently testing our process. Once tested and assessed, we will begin offering more small in-person programs. Please note that our ability to sustain our Stage One plan is based on local and provincial guidelines which may fluctuate based on Ontario’s covid-19 numbers.
Please continue to monitor our Facebook page and watch for updates and for great programs and services offered by the Friendship Centre. If you wish to make an appointment to meet with your Program Worker, or you are new to the Centre and are in need of support, please call 705-775-0387 and our Administrative Assistant will assist you.
Take care and be safe. Miigwech
